Writer/producer/director Latoya Raveneau has entered into an overall deal at Disney to develop and produce animated projects.

- Raveneau’s deal is with Disney Television Animation and 20th Television Animation. It also includes terms for live-action project development.
- Raveneau has been working at Disney for the last four years. Most recently, she was a director on The Proud Family: Louder And Prouder, which launched on Disney+ last month, as well as executive producer and showrunner on the Disney Junior musical series Rise Up, Sing Out, which also debuted in February. She is also a screenwriter on Disney Junior’s upcoming musical series Eureka!
- Prior to joining Disney, she had worked in previous artistic and writing capacities at Netflix, Glen Keane Productions, Shadowmachine, and Wild Canary Animation.
- Ayo Davis, president, Disney Branded Television, said this of Raveneau’s new deal: “We’re all delighted that Latoya chose Disney to be her creative home, and we’re looking forward to even more of her unique and inspired storytelling talent and a lasting relationship with her.”
- In addition to developing preschool, kids, and family projects at Disney, under the leadership of Meredith Roberts, senior vice president/general manager, Television Animation, Disney Branded Television, she’ll also develop adult projects at Disney’s 20th Television Animation (The Simpsons, Family Guy, Bob’s Burgers, Solar Opposites) under the leadership of Marci Proietto, the studio’s executive vice president.
- Raveneau earned a Master of Fine Arts in animation and is a summa cum laude graduate with a bachelor’s in fine arts and English with a concentration in creative writing from the University of California, Los Angeles. While at UCLA, she was lauded with its Director’s Spotlight Award for Short Animated Films, the Matt Groening Initiative for Short Animated Films, and the Thompson Prize in English for Best Creative Writing Thesis in 2012.
