London 3D animation studio Dada Projects (also responsible for this ambitious Rimowa film) visualizes the materials, processes, and life cycle of the Peel Hemp Chair from California studio PROWL.
Ana Aguiar, creative producer at Dada Projects: “PROWL is creating new solutions for people and the planet by employing materials, processes, and technology more responsibly. They are reorienting industrial design to achieve a regenerative future.
“As they were testing their circular chair and selectively picking all its components, we started to draft how to visualize the process and create a ‘how it’s made’ animation/teaser and supporting visuals. It’s been an amazing opportunity to fully explore our creative freedom, whilst collaborating with another female-run studio.
“We first connected with PROWL after a Google event where we both presented our work. The similarities between our values on sustainability and promoting females in our field were really aligned and we were happy to learn they were working on this as we had been looking for a sustainable product to craft visuals for and this seemed like the perfect opportunity.

“The Peel chair is being exhibited during Milan Design Week, showcasing the entire lifecycle of the chair, which is entirely biodegradable and compostable. The chair is a response to fast furniture and the result of a collaboration between PROWL and manufacturer M4 Factory.”
“The animations were created with C4D and Redshift, with some magic from many plug-ins and a small amount of Houdini.
