It’s official. The newest installment in the Monsterverse is Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire, and Legendary has dropped a title reveal trailer for the occasion. Godzilla Vs. Kong director Adam Wingard is back for the sequel project, with a script by Terry Rossio and Jeremy Slater from a story by Simon Barrett.

Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, and Kaylee Hottle will reprise their Godzilla Vs. Kong roles, joined by franchise newcomers Dan Stevens (The Sea Beast, Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities), Rachel House (Moana, Koala Man), Alex Ferns (Andor, The Batman), Fala Chen (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings), and more. No word yet if the larger-than-life VFX will be handled by Scanline VFX or Wētā FX’s teams from Godzilla Vs. Kong.
The latest entry in the franchise follows up the explosive showdown of Godzilla vs. Kong with an all-new cinematic adventure, pitting the almighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world. The epic new film will delve further into the histories of these Titans, their origins, and the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond, while uncovering the mythic battle that helped forge these extraordinary beings and tied them to humankind forever.
