The voice cast for Canadian CG animated film 10 Lives has finally been revealed! Former One Direction singer Zayn Malik, Sophie Okonedo (Slow Horses), and Dylan Llewellyn (Derry Girls) will lend their voices in undisclosed roles, while Simone Ashley (Bridgerton) will voice Rose and Mo Gilligan (The Lateish Show with Mo Gilligan) takes on the pampered cat lead, Beckett. This will be Malik’s first feature film.
10 Lives is currently filming and is set for a 2023 theatrical release.
The film is directed by Chris Jenkins, (Duck Duck Goose, Beauty and the Beast), produced by Guy Collins, Penney Finkelman Cox (Shrek, Snakes on a Plane), and Sean Feeney for 10 Lives Productions Ltd, with writing by Jenkins, Ken Cinnamon (Who’s the Boss?, Angie), and Finkelman Cox. L’Atelier Animation in Montreal serves as the animation studio. GFM Animation will present first look footage at the upcoming American Film Market.
10 Lives follows the pampered and selfish cat Beckett who takes for granted the lucky hand he has been dealt. However, when he carelessly loses his ninth life, he pleads to be allowed to return to his perfect life. His request is at first refused, but in a moment of exceptional empathy, the Gatekeeper allows him to return to Earth with a new set of lives. What he doesn’t realize is that each of these new lives will see him return in different forms, each one teaching him a valuable and timely lesson. The journey turns Beckett from a self-absorbed pet to a self-sacrificing hero as he travels many different roads to find the very best version of himself.
