Lots of Easter eggs and nostalgic references. My favorite was Phoebe, with a bowl of popcorn, watching the commercial from the original 1984 film. Honorable mention goes to the tiny Stay-Puft marshmallow men cooking each other and of course, making S’Mores.
The film will release exclusively in theaters on November 11, 2021.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife revolves around descendants of the late Dr. Egon Spengler – played by the beloved Harold Ramis – who discover his hidden lab at family farm they’ve inherited. Oddly enough, as they poke around, ghosts and other paranormal apparitions begin to appear. “He came out here for a reason,” whispers Phoebe, Spengler’s granddaughter, explaining why her grandfather moved to the middle of nowhere.

Buckle up and don’t cross the streams. After a 2020 pandemic delay, the long-awaited Ghostbusters sequel, Ghostbusters: Afterlife is on the horizon, with an Official Trailer #2 and release date.
Directed by Jason Reitman and written by Reitman and Gil Kenan, the latest franchise installment stars Carrie Coon as Callie (Dr. Egen Spengler’s daughter), and Mckenna Grace and Finn Wolfhard as her kids Phoebe and Trevor. The movie also stars Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts, who reprise their roles from the original film, along with Paul Rudd, who plays Mr. Grooberson, the summer school teacher of our nerdy dreams. Ivan Reitman produces, with Akroyd, Kenan, Jason Blumenfield, Michael Beugg, Aaron L. Gilbert, and Jason Cloth executive producing. The production VFX supervisor is Alessandro Ognaro, with DNEG, MPC, and Crafty Apes handling visual effects production.
