This is not a great way to start the new year. Yet another animated series has been cancelled as a cost cutting move, this time at Netflix. Dead End: Paranormal Park creator Hamish Steele recently took to Twitter to break the news that the series had been canceled after two seasons:

Steele serves as creator, executive produced and showrunner, with production by Blink Industries.Notably, Steele reveals the team has “scripts and designs and outlines ready to go” for a third season, and that he is hopeful to “finish this story some day, some how.” Perhaps the series could have a proper conclusion on another network?
The series follows the adventures of Barney, Norma, and magical-talking-dog Pugsley as they balance their summer jobs at the local theme park haunted house while battling the totally real supernatural forces that dwell within it. Together with their guide to the underworld multiplane, a sardonic thousand-year-old demon named Courtney, they’ll face zombie mascots, demonic game show hosts, sleep-sucking witches, and the scariest thing of all: their first crushes!

Dead End is based on Hamish Steele’s horror-comedy graphic novels “DeadEndia” and web short, Dead End, Dead End; a third installment of the comic is still planned for fans that seek closure for the show.
